Lewis Wood’s Footwork Live!Footwork is part concert, part dance display and part geography lesson. Georgia Lewis is the narrator and she guides us through the different styles of percussive dance that are still found all over England. Toby Bennett and Simon Harmer will dazzle you with their wonderful clogging and stepping; Lewis Wood and Aaron Horlock will play the tunes specially written by Lewis and faithful to the style of the dance. Not only will the evening be entertaining but there other good reasons to join us. Firstly, it is a tour de force, researched, composed and performed by Lewis Wood and his cast, intended to spread awareness of the many regional variations of these dance styles. Secondly, we will be supporting a valued but underused village hall at a time when venues for live music are declining. So, we would love to see you on September 7th but if it doesn’t sound like your “thing” please will you tell any friends who might be interested. Break for non-alcoholic refreshments. Session planned afterwards – bring your instrument or dance shoes Denshaw Village Hall, (Ripponden Road, OL3 5SY) 7pm - 9pm Admission: Admission £12 (£6 for those in full-time education and under 12s free) | |
